unilever script

Unilever script

Unilever is a company that will buy different brands that they feel have a lot of potential, buying smaller companies is better as if they buy a larger company they will cost more to buy.
Brands such as Nike have a massive net worth at well over $15.9 billion, so for unilever to buy Nike they would need to spend two times the amount they made in 2017 plus £1.6 billion, because of this unilever will buy lesser developed business’ that are worth in the millions rather than in the billions.
Some business will even approach Unilever with the specific idea of selling the company or business. Brut were there own business for 9 years from 1964 to 1973 until Unilever brought them and rebranded them to the infinitely more popular brut 33, brut 33 was a slightly cheaper set of aftershaves and deodorants for ‘real men’

Brut by most people is considered to be an old man’s brand this is because of a few reasons, the main one being that there last advertising campaign was mainly advertised to middle aged men and therefore due to there not being many recent advertisements they have lost a lot of customers, this is mainly down to people becoming enticed by other brands such as lynx or jack wills, brut desperately need a new fresh advertisement in order to restore the glory that it once had in our households.
Bruts old identity was for old strong men who worked 9-5 jobs and had a wife with 2 children, in today’s world this isn’t the case, there are more people living unconventional lifestyles than the conventional lifestyle. so, in advertising to real men brut are cutting out a massive chunk of possible customers due to them being arrogant and deciding to stick ‘to the good old ways. This first advert I’m going to show you was aired in the 1970’s with the famous henry cooper being the face of the brand accompanied by Kevin Keegan on screen but before, brut also have some print adverts that have been used in train stations and tourists centres for around 8 months between January of 2006 to September of 2006, the first one shows how brut is a strong spray for strong men and therefore you wearing that smell makes you a man, although with the second advertisement it’s a lot more simple and in my opinion less effective than the first one although it would have been cheap to set up and shoot. now Watch their most recent advertising campaign with me and as a group of younger people let me know if you would buy this for yourself or someone you know.
